Description and curator notes
An eight-verse hymn whose opening depicts Kālī with a garland of severed heads, loose hair, and a cremation-ground setting. The composition joins these fierce features to devotional praise and reliance on the Goddess. Its traditional attribution to Śaṅkarācārya is a feature of transmission, not sufficient evidence of early authorship. The hymn is useful for studying the integration of striking Kālī iconography into compact Sanskrit devotional poetry.
