Description and curator notes
Applies cognitive approaches to schema, metaphor, metonymy, and conceptual blending to tantric language. Timalsina works with Sanskrit materials in Śrīvidyā and Kali traditions, discussing how mantras, divine bodies, visualizations, and mandalas organize meanings that depend on knowledge of a particular ritual system. Examples include Guhyakali, the Mahavidyas, and relationships among Kali, time, and the body. The article provides a methodological introduction for interpreting esoteric language without assuming that its imagery is either meaningless or transparently literal. It is a complete scholarly article, not a complete edition or translation of a tantric scripture.
