Description and curator notes

Three meditation verses introduce the Goddess's appearance, followed by nineteen verses of praise. Kāmākhyā is addressed through the sacred geography of Kāmarūpa and Nīlakūṭa and through a cluster of divine identities, including Kāmeśvarī, Cāmuṇḍā and Mahākālī. Appeals for protection accompany praise of the cosmic Mother. Explicit invocations of Kālī make this a particularly useful source for tracing the relationship between the Kāmarūpa goddess and Kālī devotion.
