Description and curator notes
This modern Sanskrit hymn addresses Kālarātrī through her dark form, loose hair, fearsome appearance, lightning imagery and donkey mount. The verses combine praise of a protective Mother with fierce imagery associated with Caṇḍa, Muṇḍa and Mahākāla. Its contemporary authorship makes it useful for documenting living Sanskrit devotion alongside older textual witnesses. It belongs in the library's Kālarātrī name cluster while retaining its specific Navadurgā context.
