Description and curator notes
This short biography recounts Vivekananda’s early life, meeting with Ramakrishna, monastic development, travels, public work and later years. Its most direct Kali relevance is the account of his experience of the Divine Mother during the Kashmir journey and its association with the poem Kali the Mother. It also presents Ramakrishna’s priesthood and realization of Kali as part of Vivekananda’s religious inheritance. The final selected teachings put these biographical episodes within the author’s wider account of Vedanta and spiritual practice. The book is an introductory devotional synthesis and should be read alongside Vivekananda’s own poem, letters and talks and Nivedita’s recollections. It offers a convenient narrative map without replacing those earlier sources.
