Description and curator notes

Ethnographic study of queer and trans Indo-Caribbean Kali devotees in New York City. It examines ritual participation, religious kinship and diaspora identity. Kali worship is the central subject throughout. The findings concern these historically specific communities and should not be generalized to every Hindu religious setting.
